Bethune Memorial House
In 1972, Bethune was awarded the title of "Canadian Historical Celebrity". In 1973, the Canadian federal government funded the purchase of Mr. Bethune's former residence, restored it according to the original appearance of the house when Bethune was born, and built the Bethune House Museum, which was listed as a national historical place in Canada. . The "Bethune Memorial Hall" was opened in a small white building at 297 John Street on the north side of the courtyard of Bethune's former residence. It was officially opened to the public on August 30, 1976. The Bethune Memorial Hall was built in 1976. The memorial hall displays physical objects and photos of Bethune’s life and battles.
