Bow Lake
Situated along the spectacular Icefields Parkway in Banff National Park, Bow Lake is one of the most accessible and breathtaking glacier-fed lakes in the Canadian Rockies. Resting at an elevation of 1,920 meters, its vibrant turquoise waters are directly fed by the pure meltwater of the Bow Glacier and the expansive Wapta Icefield. On calm days, the lake acts as a flawless natural mirror, perfectly reflecting the rugged peaks of the Waputik Range and the iconic Crowfoot Glacier. As one of the largest lakes in Banff, its pristine alpine environment provides a sanctuary of tranquility and a rich habitat for local wildlife. The dramatic juxtaposition of ancient glacial ice, towering rocky mountains, and vivid blue waters makes Bow Lake a profound geological masterpiece and a renowned paradise for landscape photographers.
