VIR Rail offers "Sleeper Plus" and "Economy" Cars. For the Sleeper Plus, 3 types of rooms are available.

1. UPPER AND LOWER BERTH
The Sleeper Berth option offers a unique, efficient, and comfortable way to travel overnight on VIA Rail.

During the day, the space consists of two facing seats that are equivalent to a standard double seat. Storage space for personal carry-on items is available right next to your seat. Each rail car typically features six berths (three upper and three lower).
In the evening, while you are enjoying dinner, your onboard attendant transforms the seats into cozy, stacked upper and lower bunks, ready for a comfortable night’s sleep. When you are ready to retire, you can draw the heavy curtain for complete privacy, creating your own personal, darkened cabin.

Restroom and shower facilities are shared, with one set located at the end of each car for the convenience of all berth guests.

2. CABIN FOR ONE
The Cabin for One (or Single Bedroom) offers increased privacy and exclusive amenities.
Each rail car features four of these single private cabins. By day, the cabin includes comfortable seating and a window for enjoying the scenery. The room also contains its own private toilet, sink, and mirror.
While you are at dinner, the service attendant will convert the seating area into a cozy bed, with the toilet and seating area neatly covered beneath it. Each cabin features a door that can be securely locked, giving you a completely private space.
Shower facilities are shared and located just outside the cabin, at the end of the car.

3. CABIN FOR TWO
Each rail car provides six Cabin for Two (Double Bedrooms), labeled A through F.
●⠀Amenities and Layout: This private room includes an in-cabin washroom with a toilet, sink, and mirror, all within the main living space. During the day, the cabin features two comfortable seats. In the evening, the attendant will transform these seats into a set of stacked upper and lower bunks for a comfortable night’s sleep. Every cabin has a securely lockable door to ensure privacy.
●⠀Unique Family Flexibility: For families of four who book two adjacent cabins, the attendant can remove the partition wall between cabins 'A' and 'B' upon request. This creates a large, connected family suite, offering maximum flexibility and space.
Shower facilities are shared and located just outside the cabin, at the end of the car.

**All guests booked in Sleeper Class (Berth or Cabin) are welcome to access the Scenic Dome Car (Observation Car). However, seating is limited and is available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Dinning Car
All passengers booked in Sleeper Class (Berth or Cabin) are provided with complimentary meal service.
For the journey from Vancouver to Jasper, dinner (17:00 PM~19:00 PM) and breakfast are included in your service. Meals are served as a set menu, typically offering around four Western-style choices for guests to select from.
To guarantee your dinner service, advance reservation is required. Once passengers have boarded, the service attendant will confirm and arrange the specific dining time with you.

Economy Car
This seating option provides a much more spacious and comfortable journey compared to standard airplane or bus travel. The seats are wide, feature a deep recline, and come equipped with adjustable footrests for elevating your legs.

Important Notes
●⠀Amenities: Economy Class does not include complimentary meals or access to shower facilities, and guests cannot access the Scenic Dome Car (Observation Car).
●⠀Dining: Light meals and beverages are available for purchase on the train at reasonable prices.
●⠀Pricing: Seat prices vary, and booking well in advance, especially during peak season, is highly recommended for the best rates. Extra blankets and pillows can be purchased.

**If you book the VIA Rail Canada tour with Calgary Tours, your Canadian VIA Rail tour price already includes this Economy Class seating. Upgrades to a Sleeper Berth or Private Cabin are available at an additional cost.

The train journey from Vancouver to Jasper departs at 15:00 PM and arrives in Jasper Town around 11:00 AM the following morning (availability varies, typically two to three trains per week depending on the season). The return journey from Jasper Town to Vancouver departs at 9:30 AM and arrives at Vancouver Pacific Central Station at 8:00 AM the next day.

As you approach Jasper, be sure to watch for Mount Robson (3,954 meters), the highest peak in the Canadian Rockies, and Pyramid Falls, one of the route's most famous waterfalls. An announcement will be made when the train approaches these landmarks.

Important Travel Notes:
●⠀Please note that freight trains have priority on Canada's rail lines. Passenger trains must yield to freight traffic, which is a common reason for occasional delays.
●⠀The train journey is designed for relaxation. Wi-Fi is not available onboard, and cell service is often weak along most of the route. This is intentional, allowing you to disconnect from modern life.
●⠀Time passes quickly as you enjoy the dining car and lounge cars (e.g., the Scenic Dome Car). You can watch movies, socialize with fellow travelers, or simply sit back and fully absorb the scenery.

This amazing rail adventure is waiting for you to experience!
