Day 1 CALGARY - OKOTOKS - LUNDBRECK FALLS - LOCAL DISTILLERY

Overview

Departing from Calgary and embark on a full-day journey to experience the natural beauty and cultural charm of the West. Explore a cowboy ranch, a glacial erratic, a magnificent waterfall, and a nostalgic small town, immersing yourself in Western spirit and nature. Perfect for travelers who love culture and the outdoors.

【Lundbreck Falls】
Located in southern Alberta, this waterfall is not very tall but impressively powerful. It is situated in the southwest of Alberta where the Crowsnest River flows rapidly. Though modest in height, the falls are majestic, flanked by spectacular rock walls, making it a popular natural attraction for sightseeing and photography.

【Bar U Ranch】(Compulsory Admission)
Bar U Ranch is one of Canada’s most iconic Western cowboy ranches, located southwest of Calgary, Alberta. It was once one of the largest ranches in the West and preserves buildings and facilities from the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Visitors can learn about early cowboy life, ranch operations, and the history of Western settlement in Canada. It allows travelers to experience the pioneering spirit firsthand and is the best place to explore Canadian cowboy culture.

【Okotoks Erratic】
This giant granite boulder from the Ice Age quietly rests on the prairies of southern Alberta. It is Canada’s largest and most famous glacial erratic. The boulder was transported 290 kilometers from the Rocky Mountains and weighs 16,000 tons, seemingly dropped from the sky, witnessing the historic movement of glaciers. This boulder is not only spectacular but also an important symbol of geology and Indigenous culture.

【Local Distillery】
The local distillery is renowned for handcrafted specialty spirits and is an excellent place to experience regional flavors. Visitors can join guided tours to learn about the distillation process and sample a variety of selected spirits, enjoying the layered aromas and flavors in a relaxed and pleasant setting.

【Black Diamond】
Located on Highway 22 (Cowboy Trail) in Alberta, Black Diamond is a nostalgic Western town. Originally named after its coal mining history, it now preserves a strong cowboy culture and artistic atmosphere. Strolling through the town’s streets, visitors can discover local art galleries, vintage shops, independent cafes, and handmade desserts, all accompanied by the warm smiles of the locals.
